At the begiining the scene is well set with plenty of time and space given to the characters to meet and fall in love but as you move through the book the chapters get shorter and the pages devoted to each passing year grow fewer leaving you racing to the conclusion of the book almost breathlessly! Nothing was overdone or written to be sensational or super dramatic, there was in fact just a quiet kind of sadness that you can feel and read throughout the pages.
